KNOW YOUR WORTH
Do you remember the moment where you said, I have to pursue my dreams and move to Los Angeles?
Well, moving to LA was always in the plans for me, but because of a job offer I ended up moving earlier than planned. I knew moving to LA was something that would take courage--I have always told myself that "you won't get anywhere in this world without taking chances." So I prayed about it, got my answer from God and decided to go for it - I believe in living life with no regrets and it's important to get out there and see what life has to offer.
Where do you see yourself in the next three years?
In the next three years, hopefully I will be on the development end of the television industry. Developing content for TV has always interested me, because I think it would be cool to have some control of the stories that people see when they want to be entertained. Also, it'll give me a chance to play a part in bringing positive images back to television.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from my mother (Deberal Williams). Throughout my childhood she worked hard to instill the value of hard work and the importance of believing in yourself. That advice made me realize at an early age that I could do and be anything I wanted to. She has always been my biggest supporter and cheerleader, so that keeps me going and always striving for the best. I'm blessed to be able to call her my mommy!
How important is a good support system?
A good support system is SO important! The world can be a mean and cruel place sometimes, especially if you're someone with crazy and outrageous dreams. Having people to remind you of your greatness and push you when you feel like giving up is what you'll need on your journey to the top! However. I do know, sometimes we aren't all blessed to have that, so you have to make up YOUR mind and decide that you WILL continue to chase after your dreams even if you don't have anyone cheering. You have to want it bad enough until there is no other option but success!
What advice would you give women who might be afraid to take a risk and pursue their dreams?
To anyone who is afraid to take a risk at pursing their dreams - my question is, how bad do you want it? Of course, sometimes we all get afraid but your desire to achieve your dream has to trump that fear. I say go for it because the worst feeling would be to look back on your life when you're 90 years old and have to ask yourself, "what if?" Don't miss out on being great because of fear!
After being in the entertainment industry, what are some lessons learned?
Being in the entertainment industry has taught me several lessons. Here's a few: Trust your gut! We know more than we give ourselves credit for. The entertainment industry makes billions of dollars every year, so know your worth and what you bring to the table in the position you're in. Value your work and be proud to attach your name to it. Closed mouths don't get fed. Make it known to everyone you meet, your expectations in this industry and the goal/position you're working towards.
What are a few of your favorite must-haves?
Fresh white flowers (Any kind but roses are my favorite!), My bible (It's my roadmap!), and My cell phone (Yeah I'm addicted!), My two dogs (Brittany & Braxton), Sunshine (Nothing like soaking up some sun to clear your mind and focus. it is so relaxing!).
