About Sherry Sims:

Sherry Sims, Career Strategist, Leader, Influencer, Founder of Black Career Women's Network and native of Oklahoma City, decided after working 12 years in the Human Resources industry as a Corporate Recruiter and HR Generalist that she wanted to utilize her experience in a different way.

So she made the transition to become a Career Strategist and discovered a new passion for helping people strive for career success, specifically black women. While working in the HR industry, Sherry was inspired to create an online forum due to a lack of access to other professional black women for peer support and mentoring in her own career, and initially created Black Career Women’s Network as a LinkedIn group to share experiences, exchange dialogue and career advice. However, it wasn't until she changed careers, is when the LinkedIn group began to gain traction then soon after, she discovered that other professional black women like herself were experiencing similar or various challenges in the workplace. That's when she decided to expand Black Career Women's Network offline into a national organization with an online community, resources, exclusive list of Mentors, Coaches, to further develop its members in addition to providing local support.

Sherry has been featured in publications such as Cincinnati Business Courier, Cincy Chic, Cincinnati Herald and also appears on Cincinnati's FOX19 affiliate as a Careers Expert. She's also been featured in Who's Who in Black Cincinnati, received the 2015 Honor of Woman of the Year by Zeta Phi Beta - Cincinnati Grad Chapter, 2016 Global Smasher Award by Cheryl Wood Empowers, Cincy Chic's Women of the Year 2017, and Indianapolis 2017 Trailblazer Award for Woman of Worth.
